Elon Musk said in a tweet on Wednesday that he “killed” the new official label for Twitter accounts, the same day it was launched.
“Please note that Twitter will be doing a lot of stupid things in the coming months,” he tweeted. “We’ll keep what works and change what doesn’t.”

Musk pushed back on the official label a day after a product executive from the social media company announced it, sparking confusion about the difference between the label and Twitter’s existing blue checkmark that indicates verified accounts.
