Billionaire Elon Musk said Tuesday that Twitter’s much-anticipated Blue Check subscription service will be relaunched on Nov. 29, a slight delay from his initial tentative timeline for bringing the service back to the social media platform.
“Relaunching Blue Verified by November 29th is to make sure it’s rock solid,” Musk said in a tweet.

Musk said that with the new release, changing one’s verified name will result in the loss of the blue check “until the name is verified by Twitter to meet the terms of service”.
The coveted blue mark was previously reserved for verified accounts of politicians, celebrities, journalists and other public figures. But a subscription option, open to anyone willing to pay, was launched earlier this week to boost Twitter’s revenue as Musk fights to retain advertisers.
Last week, Tesla’s chief said that Twitter Blue would likely be “back by the end of next week”.
Twitter halted its recently announced $8 Blue Check subscription service on Friday because of an increase in fake accounts. The change comes a week after Musk took over the social media company in a $44 billion deal.
