Pakistan 142-8 (20 overs): Masood 56, Woakes 3-26
England won by 67 runs

After being asked to bat first in Lahore, England piled on the runs with Milan paying to send Pakistan down for scores of 29 and 62 as they took the visitors to 209-3.

Harry Brook’s fine form continued as he scored an unbeaten 46 off 29 balls – dismissed for 24 – in an unbeaten 108-run stand with Milan.

Babar Azam was responsible for dropping two of those catches and could not atone with the bat, falling to Chris Woakes in the very first over of the chase.

Race Topple bowled Mohammad Rizwan two balls later and, with two of their in-form openers gone early, Pakistan failed to recover and limped to 142-8. Woakes also took his 50th T20I wicket with 3-26 and David Willey 2-22.

England will now travel to Australia for a three-match T20 series before starting their T20 World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on October 22. Meanwhile, Pakistan will travel to New Zealand for a T20 tri-series that also includes Bangladesh.

After receiving Malan’s form, Pakistan extended a helping hand
After their surprisingly fast start in the last game, England’s openers once again got off to a flyer but two wickets in three balls brought the onslaught to an abrupt end.

Alex Hales was caught lbw by Mohammad Hasnain and was dismissed for a single two balls later after a mix-up between Malan and Phil Salt led to a run out at the non-striker’s end.

Salt’s reaction suggested he was a little in doubt as to where the blame lay but Milan was able to spend the rest of the innings making amends.

The left-hander dismissed Shadab Khan for six at deep midwicket and Ben Duckett later added another maximum down the ground in the ninth over to take England’s run rate back to 10 per over, where He remained consistent for the majority of the innings. .
