Officials of Meta Owned social media company Facebook have been invited to visit Pakistan again and consider opening offices in the country, similar to neighboring India.
With over 40 million users, company officials have promised to visit Pakistan soon.
This happened during a meeting between the Federal Minister for Information Technology (IT) Syed Aminul Haq and officials of META in Romania. He is in the European country for the Ministerial Conference of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU PP-22).
About 186 ministerial delegations have gathered in Bucharest, Romania for this summit.
During the dialogue, Haq said that Pakistan expects the number of internet users in the country to double in the coming years.
Meta officials expressed satisfaction over internet connectivity in the country, noting that the number of users of its platform has crossed 40 million.
Haq again urged META to open a local office in Pakistan, to which platform representatives assured to visit the country soon.
Pakistan is the hub of IT talent.
Earlier, while addressing the conference, the Federal Minister said that Pakistan is fast becoming an important center for the best and talented people and institutions of information technology.
He said that partnering with the fifth largest and most populous country, Pakistan, means partnering with a large pool of capable and delivering youth.
Pakistan has always been open to partnerships in all areas that are mutually beneficial for all stakeholders.
