Actor Sameer Khakhar, who last starred in Shahid Kapoor’s most-watched web series Farzi, passed away this morning at the age of 71.
The news of his death was confirmed by his brother Ganesh Khakhar. According to him, the actor suffered some breathing problem due to which he was admitted to MM Hospital Borivali. Ganesh revealed that he died at 4:30 am.
He added: “He had some breathing problems yesterday morning, we called the doctor and he asked us to admit him. We took him to the hospital and he was admitted to the ICU. He suffered multiple organ failure and died at 4.30 am today. He was 71 years old.”
According to reports, Sameer’s last rites were performed today at 10:30 am at Babai Naka Crematorium in Borivali.
The actor’s fans were shocked to hear the sad news. He expressed his condolences on Twitter.
Sameer Khakhar, popularly known as Khopdi in Nukkad, had a huge fan following due to his exceptional acting skills. He was last seen in Amazon Prime’s Farzi opposite Shahid Kapoor. He also had a cameo in Sunil Grover’s web series Sunflower, reports JEE News.
