New York – Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has appealed for generous international assistance during the next phases of rehabilitation of flood-affected people and reconstruction of infrastructure.
He was speaking at a news conference last night in New York, wrapping up his engagements at the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The foreign minister stressed on “environmental justice” for Pakistan.
He said that the total damage caused by the floods is estimated at more than 30 billion dollars with one third of the country under water.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan is working on rehabilitation projects after the flood waters recede and will rebuild the lost infrastructure in a better way so that they can withstand future natural calamities.
