Four terrorists were killed in operations of the security forces.

RAWALPINDI: Two soldiers were martyred and four terrorists were killed in three separate encounters in South Waziristan and Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan Army said on Sunday.

On Saturday, there was an exchange of fire between Pakistan Army soldiers and terrorists in Razmak area of North Waziristan. The troops effectively located the hideout of the terrorists and one terrorist was killed.

Arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the dead terrorist.

In another fierce encounter in the general area of South Waziristan’s Karama district, troops effectively searched a terrorist hideout, killing one terrorist. However, during the fierce exchange of fire, 32-year-old Naik Fazal Janan embraced martyrdom.

The area is being swept to eliminate any other terrorists.

ISPR said that the security forces are committed to end terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave men strengthen our resolve.

It said that since April 7, an intelligence-led clearing operation was launched to intercept a group of terrorists operating in the general area of Machh, west of Sabi. Besides targeting civilians in the area, the terrorists are also known to harass coal mine owners to extort money from them.

Based on confirmed reports, several ambushes have been carried out on various routes in the area visited by terrorists since last two days. As a result, a party of three terrorists was stopped while moving towards their hideout. When blocked, they opened fire on the security forces.

Two terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire while one was arrested. A cache of arms and ammunition has also been recovered. Clearance operation is going on in the area.
