Sources told JEE News Lahore Bureau Chief Raees Ansari that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has agreed to dissolve the assembly.
However, even if the Governor of Punjab does not issue a notice, the Assembly will be dissolved as per the law and the Speaker of the Assembly will remain until the appointment of the next Speaker.
A day ago, Chief Minister Punjab signed the summary of dissolution of the provincial assembly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior vice-president Fawad Chaudhry announced, demanding the Center to conduct snap polls across the country. was
“Elahi has signed the summary and the advice has been sent to Governor Punjab [Baligur Rehman] and if he doesn’t sign it in the next 48 hours, the assembly will be dissolved in the next 48 hours as per the constitution,” he said. The PTI leader told reporters in Lahore.
He also announced that a letter will be written to Hamza Shehbaz, the leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly, for the formation of a caretaker government.
A few hours after the announcement, the governor confirmed the receipt of the letter.
Talking to JEE News after receiving the summary, Balighur Rahman said that dissolving the assembly was not an easy decision, whatever decision he will take from his heart.
The Punjab Assembly is the seat of public representatives. Implementation of Chief Minister Punjab’s advice will be an unpleasant moment,” the governor added.
The coalition government of PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) decided to dissolve the assembly after a meeting between the Chief Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan at Zaman Park residence, in which Senior party leaders were present.
On November 26 last year, the PTI chairman, in a surprise move, announced that his party had decided that he would not be a part of “this corrupt system” and would resign from all assemblies.
This announcement was made by the former prime minister after finishing his long march in Rawalpindi.
However, the assembly was not dissolved earlier in Punjab due to a ban by the Lahore High Court (LHC), but as Elahi once again won the confidence of the legislature, the bar was lifted after the case was withdrawn. .
