KARACHI: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the defense exhibition held at Metropolis Expo Center.

The defense exhibition started today and will continue till November 18 (Friday).

Speaking at the event, FM Bilawal spoke about the various challenges faced by the current coalition government and said that it has achieved success despite the economic crisis.

He said that we also faced the energy crisis and fulfilled the FATF conditions.

Defense Production Minister Mohammad Asrar Tareen, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and senior civil and military officials are also part of the inauguration ceremony.

Around 300 exhibitors from 32 countries will showcase their latest products. More than 500 national and international delegates are participating in this exhibition, including high-level delegations from friendly countries.

A Karachi show is scheduled to take place on the beach on the second last day of the exhibition (November 17).

Traffic plan
Karachi Traffic Police has released an alternative traffic plan for the upcoming International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2022.

The traffic police announced a diversion plan to save commuters from inconvenience as some roads will be blocked.

All heavy and commercial traffic coming from Shahrah Faisal towards Sir Shah Sulaiman Road will not be allowed to use the stadium flyover. These vehicles will use Karsaz and Drug Road to reach Rashid Minhas Road and Nipa. People coming from the airport will use Rashid Minhas Road and Drug Road Flyover to reach Nipah.

Any heavy and commercial traffic on Rashid Minhas Road will not be allowed to go towards National Stadium using Dalmia Road. These vehicles can go from Shahrah Faisal, Gulshan Chowrangi to Sohrab Goth.

Vehicles will not be allowed to ply from Nepa to PPP Chowrangi on University Road. These vehicles will go from Nipa to Gulshan Chowrangi to Sohrab Goth or Safora, or from Rashid Minhas Road to Shahrah Faisal.

Heavy and commercial traffic will not be allowed from PPP Chowrangi to Nepa. These vehicles will use Shahrah-e-Quaidin to go to Sadar Dawakhana and Gurmand from Mazar-e-Quaid or Khudadad flyover.

Heavy and commercial vehicles will not be allowed from side streets of University Road towards Stadium Road. These vehicles will be diverted from PPP Chowrangi to Shahrah Qaidin. Moreover, vehicles will not be allowed to go from Liaquatabad No. 10 towards Sir Shah Sulaiman Road. These vehicles will be diverted towards Karimabad and Post Office and Tin Hatti.

According to the traffic plan, University Road and surrounding roads will remain open for normal traffic. However, traffic from Liaquatabad, Gharibabad and Hassan Square to Shahrah Faisal will use University Road and then take a U-turn at Baitul Mukarram Masjid and take a left at Jafri Optics to the back of the stadium. , Karsaz or Millennium Mall.

During the exhibition hours from 7 am to 6 pm, both tracks of Sir Shah Sulaiman Road will be closed and only vehicles with stickers will be allowed. Only vehicles with stickers will be allowed from Karsaz Road to Expo Center and vehicles without stickers will be allowed to go towards New Town or Dalmia.
