Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that the decision of the Supreme Court is of no importance whether his party’s petition is to be heard in a five-member bench or a full court.

The former prime minister said that the most important thing for his party is whether the elections will be according to the constitution or not.

The PTI chief’s remarks came after the dissolution of a five-member bench of the Supreme Court on Thursday when Justice Amin-Ud-Din Khan recused himself from the bench hearing the election delay case under Article 184(3).

PTI’s petition against Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to delay elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was not heard on Thursday. The Supreme Court had decided to resume the hearing at 11:30 am. However, the hearing was adjourned after the immunity of Justice Amin-Ud-Din.

Reacting to the development, Imran Khan said on social media: “Whether it’s a five-member bench of the Supreme Court or a full bench, it doesn’t matter to us because we just want to know if the elections are held within 90 days.” In shall be constitutionally. provision.”

Expressing shock over the recent development, he said, “Before we dissolved our two provincial assemblies, I consulted our top constitutional lawyers, all of whom were very clear about holding elections. The constitutional provision of 90 days is inviolable.”

The Tehreek-e-Insaf chief, who was removed from the prime ministership through a no-confidence vote, has been demanding early elections since his ouster in April last year.

Later, the Provincial Assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were dissolved at their behest in January this year as part of Tehreek-e-Insaf’s strategy to win early elections.

However, the latest turn of events led to the dissolution of the bench hearing the party’s petition for elections in the two provinces.

The PTI chief termed the ruling coalition’s efforts to postpone the elections as a mockery of the constitution.

“Now an imported government of crooks, their handlers and a compromised Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) are making a complete mockery of the Constitution,” he said.

He noted that “what articles of the constitution they will uphold, they are threatening the foundation of Pakistan, which is the constitution and the rule of law.”

Khan said that they are so scared of holding elections and desperate to save their leaders that they are willing to do away with the constitution and ignore any rule of law.

“They are so terrified of elections and so desperate to whitewash their convicted leaders that they are ready to destroy any semblance of the constitution and the rule of law,” he added.

‘Certified anti-constitutionalist’

Meanwhile, in response to Imran Khan’s tweet on Thursday, Muslim League (N) chief organizer Maryam Nawaz termed him as a certified anti-constitutional in the history of Pakistan.

He said that taking the name of a sacred thing like the constitution from the mouth of a certified anti-constitutionalist is a dirty joke.

Maryam taunted Imran Khan and said that his conspiracy with the help of new facilitators has been exposed.

He said that the country, the state and its institutions cannot follow the order of terrorists and sedition like you, so now you should remain silent.
