PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that his party has started a long march to awaken the nation as the people want to get rid of the present rulers.
“Attempts were made to scare people from participating in the long march as they said the party’s protest would be bloody,” the PTI leader told JEE News’ current affairs program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath’. He said while talking. Friday.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the purpose of the long march is not to bring anyone down. Instead, the purpose of the Long March is to shake the nation out of sleep.
People should get equal rights, he said, and those who are above the law should be brought under the law.
In response to a question regarding the appointment of the next army chief, the PTI leader said that institutions have their own relevance but the people have the right to decide. He said that PTI also says that the source of power is the people. He said that no one can deny the importance of legislature, judiciary and national security institutions, adding that PTI wants to make the institutions more efficient and effective than before.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the Pakistan People’s Party has moved away from the idea that power rests with the people. He said that PTI says that the source of power is the people.
He emphasized that no institution should violate its constitutional limits and every institution should play its role as per the Constitution of Pakistan.
The PTI leader said that if every citizen accepts the supremacy of law, there will be a revolutionary change in the society. However, if institutions and individuals overstep their boundaries beyond the law, they affect society as people’s rights are violated.
Qureshi said it is a welcome sign that the establishment has said it will stay away from politics.
The PTI leader reiterated the party’s oft-repeated stand that general elections are the only way to bring stability to the country. He pointed out that the PDM does not have the capacity to bring a no-confidence motion. However, the planning behind the no-confidence motion was exposed, he said.
Citing the example of how the MQMP struck a deal with the PPP, he questioned the credibility of the no-confidence motion and sought an explanation from the forces that brought the parties together.
The PTI leader said that we will remain peaceful, we respect the law and the constitution. In response to a question about the long march, he said that our aim is not to capture the government or Islamabad.
Instead PTI tries to convince the rulers that they are out of sync with the people of Pakistan because people are disappointed with them and PTI is ready to talk to the government on elections.
In response to a question regarding Azam Swati’s remarks, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Azam Swati’s press conference is a cause for concern. This is because Imran Khan does not advocate to wrap up everything through intervention.
He also said that if his letter had been heeded, Arshad Sharif would have been alive.
