LAHORE: As the PTI continues its long march towards Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday said Imran Khan was spewing venom against an institution that “raised” him.
Responding to a YouTube question in Lahore at DGISI’s presser, the prime minister said the PTI chief had “vehemently attacked” the Pakistan Army. He further said that the defense establishment works for Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said that the officers and soldiers of this institution have made countless sacrifices since the establishment of Pakistan, whether it was wars or terrorism. He further said that the army fought against terrorism at a time when no place in the country was safe.
“Then you spew venom against such an institution. Was any illegal action taken? Tell me whether the vote of no confidence was illegal or unconstitutional?” asked Prime Minister Shehbaz. He added that the former prime minister had The chief was offered a term extension to ensure the failure of the no-confidence vote that ousted him.
The Prime Minister said that he used to call me a boot polisher and Imran Khan made an unconstitutional offer to defeat constitutional proceedings in Parliament.

At a press conference of DGISI Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum with the military spokesperson, Prime Minister Shehbaz confirmed that the official had taken his permission before addressing the media.

Ready For Talks With India: PM
Asked about improving relations with India, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that he is ready to talk with New Delhi but on certain conditions if he is serious about it.
“This is not the time for fights and wars, I invite India to come and sit at the table,” the prime minister said, adding that if New Delhi does not want to address Kashmir, everything will become meaningless.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also said that he had discussed the solution of the Kashmir issue during his visit to Saudi Arabia. He further said that Riyadh is ready to act as a mediator between New Delhi and Islamabad.
The prime minister also said that he had fruitful discussions with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, adding that he also expressed his willingness to invest in Pakistan.
Khan Will Not Enter the Red Zone, Prime Minister’s Promise
Regarding PTI’s long march, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that it is the responsibility of the elected coalition government to ensure stability in the country and it will not allow anyone to create political and economic crisis.
“Any attempt to enter the red zone will be thwarted under the relevant laws,” the prime minister said.
Continuing his attack on the PTI chief, the prime minister said that Khan has a personal agenda and is bent on pushing the country towards unrest and economic ruin.
