Islamabad Police said on Saturday that former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan may be arrested if he does not appear in court.
Spokesman Islamabad Police said on social media website Twitter that PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest warrant is a legal process. The former prime minister did not appear in the court for the last hearing.
Islamabad Police says that the arrest warrant has been issued to ensure the presence of the former prime minister in the court for the next hearing. The Islamabad High Court had issued an order to drop the charges of terrorism from case number 407/22. After this order, the case was transferred to the Sessions Court.
The spokesperson further said that Imran Khan has not yet obtained bail from the Sessions Court, in case he does not appear, he can be arrested. The public is requested not to listen to rumours.
