Imran Khan’s sister and brother in law bought 5261 kanals of land for Rs 132 million.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan and her husband have bought more than 5000 kanals of land in Nawankot area of ​​Chobara District Leh for only 132 million rupees. The market value of the purchased land is said to be over Rs 700 million.

The land was purchased after the Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced its support for the Greater Thal Canal project.

According to the records of Punjab Land Records Authority, PTI chief’s sister Uzma Khan and brother-in-law Ahad Majeed Khan son of Allah Dad Khan, belonging to the Niazi tribe, got 3,061 kanals of land worth Rs 500 million in Nawan Kot for paying only Rs 76. of 2 million This was achieved when Usman Buzdar was the Chief Minister of Punjab.

According to local officials, of a total of 3,061 kanals of land – purchased from eight people last year – 1,500 kanals were transferred to the PTI chief’s sister and 1,561 to her husband.

The couple bought 2,200 kanals worth over Rs 200 million during the same period and paid only Rs 55 million for it.

Imran’s sister and brother-in-law paid 2.2 million in taxes on 5,261 kanals of land worth over Rs 700 million in June 2022. Despite the non-existence of the said land and ignorance of the real owners, the land was sold in the land revenue records. .

At least 500 kanals of Nawankot land were allegedly forcibly vacated as the real owners of the Nawankot land could not be identified.

Masood Yasin sold 200 kanals, Umar Hayat 200, Muhammad Ilyas 1200 kanals, Muhammad Rafiq 450 kanals, Aziz Qazi 160 kanals, Hasnain Magsi 351 kanals and Ghulam Habib sold 350 kanals of land.

Work on the Greater Thal Canal project is in progress.

However, local government officials said that Uzma Khan is in Nawankot to get possession of the land.

It is worth mentioning here that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) had announced its support for the Greater Thal Canal project to be constructed in the area.

The total area required for Greater Thal Canal projects is 1646A-6K-5M while the awarded area is 1640A-1K-13M (private land) and 6A-4K-12M (forest land). Out of a total of 10,186 victims of the project, 5,660 have been paid compensation amounting to Rs.58.864 million while 4,526 victims are yet to be paid an amount of Rs.947,080.
