Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s sisters – Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan – on Friday recorded their statements before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) investigating the May 9 attacks on civilian and military installations.

According to police sources, Alima and Uzma appeared before the JIT and recorded their statements in 4 cases related to the May 9 riot.
In their statements, both sisters denied their involvement in the attack on Jinnah House and the damage to public property during the violent protests that erupted after Khan’s arrest.
Uzma, however, admitted that she was present at the protest outside Jinnah House but denied being involved in the vandalism inside the house.
Alimah in her testimony told the JIT that she was at her residence in Zaman Park during the May protests.
On July 24, the Anti-Terrorism Court initiated proceedings to declare 21 PTI leaders, including Aleema and Uzma, absconders for not cooperating with the investigation in the May 9 cases.
The police informed the court that despite being aware of their involvement in the cases, the PTI leaders did not follow the investigation and are currently absconding.
The police requested the court to declare him a fugitive.
