In the last phase of local elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, PML-N has upper hand.

Muzaffarabad: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is leading in the final phase of the local body elections in Mirpur division of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), announced by the Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir here on Thursday. According to unconfirmed and unofficial results

Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Abdul Rasheed Salharia announced the results of 31 seats during a press conference in the Central Control Room, out of which the Muslim League (N) won 9 seats while the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won 6 seats. Achieved success. Muslim Conference of Union Councils and Pakistan People’s Party won one seat each.

The third and final phase of local body elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir was held in three districts of Mirpur Division, Kotli, Mirpur and Bhimbar.

Justice (retd) Silharia said that the LG elections in the region were conducted in a peaceful, free and fair manner which is a matter of satisfaction for him.

He appreciated the services and support of the administration, police and especially the media for the commission during the election process.

He said that a separate schedule would be announced for the elections to the reserved seats in the urban and rural councils.
