RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Saturday said that India will never succeed in its nefarious ambitions and any misadventure will be given a befitting reply.
According to the army’s media wing, the newly appointed army chief made the remarks while visiting the frontline troops in the Rakhchakri sector of the Line of Control (LoC) today.
The COAS was briefed on the latest LoC situation and operational preparations of the formation.
In an interaction with the officers and men, the Army Chief appreciated their high morale, professionalism and combat readiness while performing their duties under difficult conditions.
General Asim said that he has recently seen the most irresponsible statements of the Indian leadership on Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
“Let me make it very clear, the armed forces of Pakistan are not only ready to defend every inch of their motherland, but to take back the war against the enemy,” asserted the COAS. Also, if war is ever imposed on us”. .
Any misunderstanding will result in any kind of adventure which will be countered by the might of the armed forces backed by a strong nation, he said.
The Indian state will never achieve its nefarious ambitions. The world must ensure justice and fulfill the promise made to the Kashmiri people as per UN resolutions.
Earlier, on the arrival of the Army Chief, Corps Commander Rawalpindi Lieutenant General Shahid Imtiaz welcomed him.
General Asim Munir received the baton of command from General Qamar Javed Bajwa in a ceremony held at General Headquarters Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
With the change of command, General Munir has become the 17th Army Chief of Pakistan Army after General Bajwa handed over the baton to him.
