Weekly inflation hit a record high of 28.67 percent, as it rose 0.67 percent.
The data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics shows that the prices of 23 essential commodities have increased in the country during the week under review.
Along with this, a decrease in the prices of 13 items was recorded.
The weekly inflation report said that prices of essential items like chicken, onion, eggs, potatoes, red chillies, tea, salt and wood have become more expensive after increasing from last week.
The data showed that tomatoes, dal masoor, gram dal, ghee, dal mash, dal mung and cooking oil became cheaper during the same week, while prices of garlic and wheat flour also recorded a decrease.
Along with this, the report said that the prices of 15 food items remained stable last week.
