Shahnawaz’s mother files plea to get discharged from case
When the court heard the case today, it heard Shah’s plea seeking acquittal of the murder case.
Samina Shah’s lawyer Nasir Asghar told the court that the police had written in their challan that their client was found at the crime scene but did not mention her involvement.
Asghar told the court that when the prosecution’s case is not against him, then he should be acquitted from the case. He further said that the court will have to give a final opinion after seeing the challan.
Shah’s lawyer also told the court that when the police arrived at the scene, he handed over his son to the law enforcement agency.
“The only reason given is that the plaintiff is insisting [on adding his name],” said the lawyer. He further said that apart from this there is nothing against his client.
On this occasion, the court adjourned the hearing as the lawyer of Sara’s father, Inamur Rehman, did not reach the court.
After the arrival of the lawyer, the hearing resumed.
The lawyer told the court that he agreed that when Sarah came to the farmhouse, the three of them – the victim and the two accused – had dinner together in the evening. He added that the police record also states that Sara had come there after divorce.
“What happened that evening when these three people were sitting together?” asked the lawyer. He added that the divorce between the couple took place two days before the murder and the CCTV cameras also stopped working on the same day.
The lawyer also told the court that Shah’s lawyer had said that the murder took place at 9 am but the post-mortem was telling otherwise.
The lawyer said that according to his information, even if the incident happened at 9 am, the post-mortem is telling something else.
The lawyer said the police have seized the DVR and it has been sent for forensics. He further said that the investigation revealed that Ayaz Ameer, who was discharged, reported the crime to the police.
