An Islamabad magistrate on Saturday issued an arrest warrant for Imran Khan.

The warrant was issued by Senior Civil Judge Rana Mujahid Rahim.

According to the details, the arrest warrants of the accused were issued on August 20 in Margalla police station in the case of violation of Section 144 and threatening a lady judge.

The First Information Report (FIR) against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief in the case includes sections 504 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

In this regard, Islamabad Police said on its official Twitter handle that Imran Khan did not appear in the court in the previous hearing and a warrant was issued to ensure his attendance at the next hearing.

The federal police said that the court had directed to remove the provisions related to terrorism from the case, after which the case was transferred to the sessions court.

It noted that the former prime minister has not obtained bail from the sessions court and warned that he could be arrested if he does not appear in the court.
