A statement by the army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), read: “There was an exchange of fire between terrorists and their troops in the general area of Dardoni district of North Waziristan.”

He added: “Three terrorists were sent to hell while two were injured”.

The six brave men who fought bravely before being martyred include: Havaldar Saleem Khan (age 36 years, resident of District Tank), Naik Javed Iqbal (age 37 years, resident of District Kohat), Sepoy Nazir Khan (age 26 years). Sepoy Hazrat Bilal (aged 25 years, resident of Mardan district), Sepoy Syed Rajab Hussain (aged 22 years, resident of Orakzai district) and Sepoy Bismillah Jan (aged 22 years, resident of Khyber district) resident of Bannu district.

The statement of the military wing further said that a search operation is underway to eliminate any hidden threat in the area.

“The area is being cleared to eliminate the terrorists found in the area.”

Moreover, the statement concluded with a commitment to ensure the elimination of terrorism from the country.

The ISPR statement said that the security forces of Pakistan are committed to end the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave men strengthen our resolve.

According to the media wing of the army, three soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred during three different encounters with terrorists in different areas of Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last week.

An ISPR statement said that on the intervening night of April 27-28, security forces fought bravely and foiled three terrorist attacks at different locations in Lakki Marwat district within a short span of time.

It added that a motorcycle-borne suicide bomber blew himself up near a security forces post in the district, following which a heavy exchange of fire took place between the soldiers and the terrorists.

Two other encounters took place in Amir Kalam and Tajbi Khel areas of the district, in which three more terrorists, including terrorist commander Musa Khan, were killed.

According to ISPR, arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the seven terrorists who were killed.
