India’s most famous lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar will perform at the Faiz Festival in Lahore.
Veterans will participate in the fair as the chief delegate from India. He will participate in the mushaira. Javed will also launch his new book at the event.
The festival will be a three-day event starting from February 17 to 19 in which foreign delegates from Canada, USA, UK and India will represent their music, art and literary activities.
Al Hamra Arts Council of Lahore has been established for the event. The festival consists of over 60 events including; Theatre, Dance Performance, Literary Speeches, Qawwali and many more. Unlike previous years, all events at the Faiz Festival will be free.
Areas around the Arts Council have been specially prepared for the three-day festival.
Sources say that the literature festival will also have performances by many local and international artists. For example, Qawwals belonging to the Sabri family have been invited to perform. Meanwhile, Habib Wali Muhammad’s son Rizwan Wali Muhammad will also perform in the festival.
Faiz Festival was started in 2015 by Faiz Foundation Trust in collaboration with Alhamra Arts Council Lahore.
