Karachi Lost Another Life Due to Dengue

A young man died of viral dengue fever, city health officials reported on Friday. After the latest death, the number of dengue deaths across Karachi has risen to 48.

However, October saw the lowest number of new dengue cases reported in the last reporting period in Sindh.

Health officials said that the latest victim of dengue was a 35-year-old man.

The deceased was a resident of Korangi, a labor and industrial area of ​​Karachi. He added that he died on October 25 but was confirmed to be due to dengue at the time of last reporting.

The latest deaths mean that around 55 people have succumbed to the viral fever so far this year in Karachi and across Sindh alone.

Since the beginning of the year, 18 thousand 733 cases have been reported across Sindh, of which 14 thousand 218 cases were reported in Karachi alone.

In October alone, at least 5,738 people succumbed to the dengue virus in Karachi division, which is the majority of the total dengue cases reported across the province.

Hyderabad division is second with 1,742 cases.

Fewer Cases
With 187 fresh cases confirmed on Friday, it was the lowest number of confirmed dengue cases in a single period reported in October when cases reached 419 on October 4.
