Karan Johar has described Ranveer Singh’s character in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani as a male Poo .
Poo is a famous Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham character played by Kareena Kapoor. The role became one of the notable roles of Kareena’s career. It has been imitated by many people all over the world.
The popular filmmaker has compared the Ram Leela actor’s character Rocky Randhawa with his character in K3G.
According to the director, Ranveer’s character in RRKPK was to look like a loving boy who knows nothing about the real world. He said that Rocky wants to be like Poo.
“Rocky needed to be this sweet boy. He needed to be Poo but updated. He was like male Poo.”
Not only this, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director also compared the Simmba actor’s character to a barbie.
Karan said: “He was like Ken to Barbie. It’s all ironic that Barbie is out here now. So, he was kind of the perfect Kane, with rough edges.
He further revealed: “The idea was to always make Rocky cute, vulnerable and clearly unaware of the world. He doesn’t really know his politics, he doesn’t know anything, and it’s his. Don’t care because that’s not what it’s about – it’s like running a family business and just kind of being yourself.”
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani released in theaters on July 28. The film also marks Karan Johar’s return to the director’s chair, reports JEE News.
