King Charles III of Great Britain has sent a message of condolence to the President of Pakistan after the deadliest bomb attack on a mosque in Peshawar.
At least 100 people were killed and more than 200 injured in a suicide attack in the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday.
In his message to President Dr Arif Alvi, Britain’s new monarch said: “My wife and I have been deeply shocked by Monday’s horrific bomb attack in Peshawar. Such unimaginable acts of brutality, wherever they are, are our “A brutal attack on our common humanity. And our values of understanding and compassion.”
King Charles added: “It is most appalling that the victims were in the synagogue during Asr prayer. We feel the deepest sympathy for all those who have been bereaved and injured in such a brutal manner. We remember our visit to Pakistan in 2006. Biggest love, and will keep the people of Pakistan in our special thoughts and prayers as you share in the grief of those you have lost.”
