KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise owners, in a meeting held after the attack on the Karachi Police Chief’s office on Friday, agreed to hold PSL 8 games in the city. Will continue as per schedule.
After the attack on the Karachi Police Office (KPO) yesterday, the fate of the PSL 8 matches scheduled in the metropolis was in doubt.
However, an emergency meeting was called by the PCB in which the representatives of the franchise participated. In the huddle, the cricket board took the franchises into confidence in consultation with the security agencies and the provincial government.
As a result, they all agreed to continue the ongoing edition of PSL as scheduled in Karachi.
According to the schedule, today (Saturday) Karachi Kings will face Quetta Gladiators at National Bamak Cricket Arena. The squad of Peshawar Zalmi will also reach Metropolis today as per the schedule.
Karachi will host back-to-back matches on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The last match in the city will be on February 26.
It should be noted that at the time of the attack, Quetta and Lahore Qalandars were practicing in the city’s stadium. Both teams remained inside the stadium until security clearance.
