Filmmaker Luv Ranjan, who is widely known for making rom-coms, opens up about why his films always feature women as antagonists.
His films namely; Pyaar Ka Punchnama 1 and 2, Sonu Ki Tito Ki Sweety and now Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, all these films have female actresses playing negative roles.
Audiences often wondered about the same and now Luv has finally revealed his school of thought. He added: “There are other filmmakers who are making good films in the space of ‘Lakki Siddhi Hai Lakke Chalo Hai’. As a filmmaker I have to have a certain novelty for my films and my audience.”
“A film will not engage the audience unless there is a negative and a positive force in the film. It is purely a creative decision to cast a woman in a negative role in my films.”
Shraddha Kapoor can be seen in a negative role in the trailer of her latest film ‘To Jhothi Mein Makkar’. His last film Sonu Ki Tito Ki Sweety featured Karthik Aaryan and Nusrat Bharucha where Nusrat played the role of the villain.
TJMM marked Luv Ranjan’s film debut after five years. Ranbir Kapoor will play the lead role in this rom-com. He played a similar romcom role in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. According to a report by JEE News, the film also stars Dimple Kapadia and Boney Kapoor in lead roles.
