Before Mazari’s arrest, his daughter had also posted a video showing policemen coming outside the PTI leader’s residence in the federal capital.
Speaking to the media, Iman said that his mother was released earlier today on a court order but was arrested again under Section 4 of the MPO.
He said that Mazari was released from Adiala Jail yesterday and was detained on the same day.
Most of the officials who came to arrest him were from the Punjab Police, Iman said, adding that the PTI leader was scheduled to appear before the IHC tomorrow (Thursday).
Earlier today, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) restrained authorities from arresting Mazari and PTI Senator Falknaz Chitrali.
The court also barred the authorities from further investigating the two politicians when they appeared before a judge hearing pleas for relief from further arrest.
The judge remarked that there is no need for further investigation of Falaknaz and Shireen Mazari.
Meanwhile, another PTI leader Maleeka Bokhari was also arrested again after being released from jail.
The IHC earlier today ordered Bokhari’s release. However, the Punjab Police re-arrested Malaika hours after her release.
According to police sources, Bokhari was arrested from outside Adiala Jail and the police shifted him to an unknown location.
Similarly, PTI leader Muhammad Khan was also re-arrested from outside the District Jail, Jhelum.
Punjab police authorities detained Ali Muhammad Khan and after releasing him on the order of IHC, shifted him to an undisclosed location.
The arrests are part of an ongoing crackdown on PTI leaders and activists for their alleged involvement in vandalizing and torching military and public property following the arrest of party chief Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case on May 9. .
At least 10 people were killed and scores injured in the deadly protests, with authorities arresting not only party leaders but also thousands of PTI workers.
The army and the government have decided that those involved in attacks on defense installations will be prosecuted under the Pakistan Army Act and the Official Secrets Act.
