Pakistani actress Mansha Pasha criticized Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah for making false claims about the status of Sindhi language in Pakistan.
The veteran actor from the neighboring country found himself at the center of controversy after he claimed that Sindhi language is no longer spoken in Pakistan.
Talking about his latest TV series Taj in a promotional interview, he claimed, “They [Pakistan] have Balochi, they have Bari, they have Saraiki and they have Pashto. “Sindhi, of course, is no longer spoken in Pakistan”, it revealed on Tuesday.
In response to the comment, Pasha said that she did not fully agree with Shah because she was a Sindhi-speaking Pakistani.
As a proud Sindhi who speaks the language within her household, I beg to differ. https://t.co/6XXWaUXRtv

“As a proud Sindhi who speaks the language of my home, I beg to differ,” the Red Pigeon actor wrote on Twitter.
Shah’s comments did not sit well with Pakistanis and for all the right reasons as Sindhi is one of the languages spoken in the country.
Many social media users were angry with him for being ignorant of the language status.
“Sindhi, of course, is no longer spoken in Pakistan..”

WTF, Shah Ji? pic.twitter.com/kp4tYlmykG
How confidently people with influence speak out of their backsides on subject matter that neither they nor their audience has any idea about.

That's ill-reaserched statement Naseer Saab, even if it is said generally without any offence. We must realise how passionate people are as they must be for their local language and other traditions. Yes, Sindhi very much exists with all its pride.

Sindhi is literally the most developed language in Pakistan after Urdu. It's a medium of instruction, compulsory subject till matriculation. National Identity Cards are printed in Sindhi. FIRs, office work and Sindh Assembly proceedings are conducted in Sindhi.
