Ever since the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed Pervez Elahi was named the chief minister of Punjab, the party has barely held power.
With the political temperature rising and the landscape changing, many PTI MPAs from Punjab are considering quitting the party.
JEE News correspondent Qazafi Butt said with reference to sources that 12 PTI leaders from Punjab have already contacted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN).
According to the sources, these leaders are ready to contest the upcoming elections on the ticket of Pakistan Muslim League (N).
Several members of PTI’s China group are among those who have approached the opposition through back doors in Punjab. Sources said that he has indicated his willingness to leave the party.
According to reports, the PML-N has agreed to accept all possible PTI defectors except the three Chinese group members.
Besides, PTI leaders from South Punjab, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Leh and Khushab are reportedly considering switching loyalties.
