Ahead of his expected potential battle with Twitter chief Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive of Threads and Instagram owner Meta, achieved a major milestone in jiu-jitsu when he moved up the ranks to become a blue belt.

Taking to his Instagram account, Zuckerberg, 39, congratulated his coach Dave Camarillo on being awarded a fifth-degree black belt.

Congratulations Dave Camarillo on your 5th degree black belt. You are a great coach and I have learned so much about fighting and life from training with you. Also honored to be promoted to compete at Blue Belt for the Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu San Jose team,” he wrote.

Camarillo, on the other hand, was impressed by Zuckerberg’s determination and focus. He also said that the CEO of Meta really put his mind into jiu-jitsu, and he was very passionate about it.

“He’s amazing. He’s an extremely hard worker, as everyone knows. But a lot of people have a business and they’re successful and they have that side of their lives, and rarely do they dive into the physical side, especially with things like Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, and have that much success or get through Day 1 or Month 1. He’s not that kind of guy,” Camarillo said of Zuckerberg.

So far, Zuckerberg’s battle with Musk continues as the Threads chief trains with professionals every day, even recently expressing his desire to train with legendary grappler Gordon Ryan to further polish his skills.

Meanwhile, Musk isn’t fussing around as he, too, was spotted training with former MMA star Georges St-Pierre (GSP) earlier this month.

It should be noted that legendary UFC fighter Conor McGregor also said that he would help train Musk against Zuckerberg if the fight takes place in the Octagon.

“I’m interested,” McGregor told JEE News.

“Are they going to go through with it? Are they going to do it?

“If it’s under the UFC banner, I’m with it. It’s got to be under the UFC banner,” he said.
