Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Thursday that the Islamabad High Court has given a clean chit to Maryam Nawaz on merit. He said that Maryam Nawaz appeared in the courts for four years and faced imprisonment along with Nawaz Sharif.
While addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Shahbaz Sharif criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. He clarified that the government has no role in the audio leaks. He expressed regret that baseless allegations were made on the constitutional struggle of Pakistan Muslim League (N).
To a question, the Prime Minister said that the recent audio leak regarding the cipher has exposed the true face of the PTI chief to the nation.
He alleged that it is Imran Khan who has played with national interests and hurt the country’s relations with the outside world, which the present government is trying to repair and improve.
