After the horrific suicide blast in the mosque, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appealed to the nation to end the differences and fight the scourge of terrorism.

The Prime Minister made this appeal while presiding over the meeting of the Apex Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Governor House Peshawar. Army Chief, Chief Ministers of all provinces and other senior officials participated in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the meeting was called to consider terrorism and find a solution to the menace of terrorism.

“More than 100 people were martyred in a horrific suicide attack on Monday and we are here to express our solidarity with the families of the victims,” the Prime Minister said. He added that the attack was “extremely unfortunate” but also said that the attacker reached the mosque after passing through a check post in police lines.

“After APS, this was the most disturbing incident to happen in the city. The nation is asking how the incident happened in Peshawar after the end of terrorism a few years ago,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz.

The prime minister noted that incidents of terrorism have increased in the province over the past several months and condemned social media claims related to the attack.

The baseless allegations made after the attack on social media and other platforms are condemnable. The investigation will be on security lapses but to say that it was a drone strike or something else is very inappropriate,” the prime minister said.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the nation is now thinking how to move forward and overcome the scourge of terrorism.

“It is important that the Center and the provinces, the political leadership and the ulama should take ownership of this campaign, overcome their differences and face it together,” the Prime Minister said, adding that terrorism should be eradicated. Determined to utilize all the country’s resources.

PTI did not hold a rally.
Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister Shaukat Yousafzai while talking to JEE News confirmed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has received an invitation for the meeting but he will skip the meeting.

Yousafzai said that we cannot sit with those who are taking revenge against us.

The former KP minister said that “on one side were the bodies of martyrs” and on the other hand, the federal government is asking the PTI for details of Rs 417 billion to fight terrorism.

Yousafzai also alleged that the federal government had stopped funding the KP government, adding that the government was not serious.
