There are limited legal techniques for recording iPhone phone calls. While Apple’s emphasis on user privacy is reassuring, the company’s dedication to it makes call recording difficult.
You’d think there would be an iOS app for this, but Apple restricts third-party apps from accessing the microphone and phone app. However, several apps and services work around this limitation, making you an expert at mobile wiretapping.
Make sure you have an iPhone and another iOS device with the Voice Memos application, such as an iPad or another iPhone. Voice Memo comes pre-installed on most devices, but you can also get it for free from the App Store. This app can record phone conversations.
Before recording the call, review the file to make sure the audio is audible and make any necessary adjustments. If the sound quality is insufficient, you may need to speak louder, increase the microphone’s sensitivity, or move the speaker closer to your mouth.
Alternatively, you can record the conversation using the Rev Call Recorder app, which is also available as a free download from the App Store. Rev Call Recorder prevents the recording problem by joining a three-way call as a third participant.
