Militants demanding the release of their comrades from jail have abducted a Gilgit-Baltistan minister from Babusar Road, police sources said on Saturday.
Sources told that GB Minister Obaidullah Baig was on his way to Gilgit from Islamabad when he was abducted by terrorists.
Baig was elected from Hunza 6 on a PTI ticket.
Faizullah, a former spokesperson of the GB government, told the TV channel that he had spoken to Obaidullah Baig and talks with the militants are ongoing for his release.
Faizullah said that he was present in the Jirga where talks are held with the militants.
“Religious figures and elders are also present here in Thak Jal,” he added.
