Mob of 200 Attacked a Mosque in Gurugram, Threatening Worshipers

A mob of over 200 people vandalized a mosque in a village in Gurugram, attacked people praying inside and threatened to evict them from the village.
Police have registered an FIR in the incident that took place in Bhoora Kalan village on Wednesday night, but no arrests were reported till Thursday evening.

According to the complaint filed by Subedar Najar Muhammad, there are only four houses of Muslim families in Bhora Kalan village.

They said the commotion started on Wednesday morning, when a mob of around 200 people, allegedly led by Rajesh Chauhan alias Babu, Anil Bhaduria, and Sanjay Vyas, surrounded the mosque and barged into the prayer hall where they offered prayers. Threatened to expel the worshipers from the village.

According to the police, Subedar said in his complaint, “Once again at night, when we were offering prayers inside the mosque hall, the mob came and attacked the worshipers and also locked the prayer hall. They killed us. “Threatened to kill,” according to the police.

By the time the police arrived, the accused had fled.

Officials said that the police recovered a mobile phone from the spot which may belong to a part of the attacking mob.

Following Mohammad’s complaint, an FIR was registered against Rajesh Chauhan, Anil Bhaduria, Sanjay Vyas and several others at the Bilaspur police station on charges of rioting, attempted religious discord and unlawful assembly.
