The Sindh Govt says Barrister Murtaza Wahab decided to resign in the heat of the moment, asking him to continue as administrator of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
According to The News, Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah disclosed this while addressing a press conference on Wednesday along with Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Food Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla.
Wahab submitted his resignation on Monday following the Sindh High Court (SHC) order barring K Electric from collecting municipal tax from the people of Karachi through its electricity bills.
To a question, the Local Government Minister clarified that Wahab’s resignation was not accepted by the Sindh government and he is still the administrator of KMC.
Shah said Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had asked Wahab to continue working as the city’s administrator.
Appreciating Wahab’s performance as KMC administrator, he said that he had acted on emotion in deciding to resign.
