Indian film industry’s versatile actor Naseeruddin Shah steps in to voice his opinion on the ongoing debate in South cinema and Bollywood.

According to Shah, South films are much better than Bollywood. But, he did not hesitate to describe South cinema as apathetic.

The year 2022 has been a great year for South Indian cinema in terms of their films. RRR and KGF chapter 2, became a global recognition. In contrast, Bollywood films Lal Singh Chadha and Samrat Prithviraj failed miserably at the box office. However, it sparked a debate between South and Bollywood.

Expressing his point of view, the actor said: “Even commercial films made in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu are imaginative, they are original, they may be bad in taste, but His execution is always flawless. So long. Even his song picturisation, even in those corn movies of Jeetendra and Sridevi, crazy like hundreds of matkas (earthen pots) in a line. Maybe together, but at least it was an original idea.”

On the work front, Naseeruddin Shah was last seen in the film Kuttey. Currently, he is gearing up for the release of his upcoming series Taj-Divided By Blood. The series also stars Dharmendra, Aditi Rao Hydari and Taha Shah. The Shah starrer is slated to release on Zee5 on March 3, reports JEE News.
