London: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has confirmed for the first time that he will return to Pakistan in October this year.

Nawaz – who has been in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019 due to health reasons – said this for the first time on Friday during a meeting with his party workers and supporters at Stanhope House. Former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N leaders Chaudhry Tanveer, Daniyal Chaudhry, Chaudhry Nadeem Khan, Dr. Anjum and others were also present on this occasion.

Sources present during the meeting at Stanhope House indicated that Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Pakistan next month has been confirmed but no exact date has been fixed.

JEE News revealed three weeks ago that the PML-N supremo is going to return to Pakistan in mid-October. Sources also shared with JEE News that the three-time prime minister will return in the “second half of October”.

Two weeks ago PML-N President Shehbaz said that his elder brother will return in October.

Shahbaz Sharif said that ‘Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan in October and lead the election campaign and this decision has been taken after party consultation of PML-N.’

Shahbaz Sharif said that Nawaz Sharif will face the law of the country when he returns to Pakistan.

Nawaz arrived in London on 19 November 2019, when he fell seriously ill in jail.

The family alleged that the Imran Khan-led government and its supporters had tried to poison Nawaz. He was treated for four months at Harley Street Clinic and London Bridge Hospital.

Nawaz was diagnosed with an immune system disorder and doctors in Pakistan recommended him to go abroad for treatment as his condition continued to deteriorate despite the best possible care in the country.
