LAHORE: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was politically targeted through a reference at the behest of the former government and proper legal procedures were not followed to declare him an advertisement.

The judgment said that the legal procedure was not followed to declare the former prime minister as an advertisement.
“If the mandatory conditions are not fulfilled, then the entire process of declaring an accused ad libel becomes illegal and void,” the court added.
