Nishtar Hospital: 20 More Abandoned Bodies Were Buried.

JEE News reported on Wednesday that 20 more bodies found on the roof of Multan’s Nishtar Hospital have been cremated.

According to reports, the police, with the help of the Edhi Foundation, buried the bodies in a graveyard adjacent to the hospital.

Police sources said that more than 20 bodies were handed over to the police after the DNA test. After taking DNA samples, the bodies were cremated.

A few days ago, five bodies and human remains were buried.

Recently, hundreds of abandoned bodies were recovered from the roof of a hospital in Multan. The inquiry committee recommended to bury him.

The incident of desecration of dead bodies in Nishtar Hospital came to light last week. Some videos are circulating on social media in which dead bodies are seen lying on the roof of the hospital. Later, hundreds of abandoned bodies were recovered from the hospital’s morgue and its roof.

Sources say that dozens of dead bodies are rotting in a room built on the roof of Nishtar Hospital.

On October 14, the matter was brought to the notice of the Punjab government, which decided to investigate the incident.

After the video and pictures were shared on the internet, Chief Minister Pervez Elahi formed a six-member committee to investigate the incident.

Police are responsible for the presence of dead bodies: hospital officials
Besides, the vice chancellor of Nishtar Medical University has formed a three-member committee to investigate the incident.

Dr. Maryam Ashraf, head of the anatomy department of Nishtar Medical University (NMU), while talking to JEE News, said that the rescue authorities and the police are responsible for the dead bodies being piled up on the mortuary and its roof.

Ashraf said the medical facility could not refuse to accept the bodies because it was obliged to take them as security. “Police and rescue personnel ask us to keep him in the hospital.”

“Police and rescue personnel do not take them back on time. We have written documents asking them to take the bodies. Since there is a gap, such things happen,” the official said.
