No action is being taken against any politician in Sindh, Home Minister

Caretaker Home Minister Sindh Brigadier (retd) Haris Nawaz on Sunday denied the allegations of political violence in the province and said that no action is being taken against any political leader.

The minister’s statement comes amid heightened political tension in the province after a series of reports of politicians, particularly those from the Pakistan People’s Party, being blacklisted and accused of corruption. Their houses are being raided to expose them.

Last month, sources told JEE News that Mukesh Chawla, a PPP politician and former provincial minister, was put on the interim stop list following a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiry into abuse of power and corruption in the vehicle registration scam. has been given.

However, on approaching the Sindh High Court against his possible arrest, the Anti-Corruption Authority stopped him from arresting him. Chawla’s plea said that his residence was raided, though no call-up notice was issued to him in connection with the NAB inquiry.

The sources further said that the names of more than 60 government officials close to the People’s Party have also been included in the stop list.

Sources further said that apart from this, an inquiry is also expected to be started against government officials close to the People’s Party in the office of the anti-graft body in Karachi.

According to sources, Chawla’s name was included in the list on the recommendation of NAB and all the names were included in different stages from the first week of August.

Commenting on the above reports about Sindh politicians today, Brigadier (Rtd) Nawaz said that only NAB investigation and criminal cases are going on.

The caretaker minister told reporters that no political revenge is being taken against anyone in Sindh.

The caretaker home minister also denied reports of politicians being put on the stop list.

After reports of cash being recovered from the residences of politicians in the province, the minister clarified that no money was recovered from anyone’s house in Sindh and no politician’s residence was raided.

Earlier this month, fake news regarding the raid on the house of former federal minister of the People’s Party, Shazia Murri, started circulating on social media, with claims of “seizure of Rs 97 billion in cash”.
