Quetta: Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Longo on Tuesday ordered the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against Haq Du Tehreek Chairman Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman over the killing of a policeman during a protest in Gwadar.
According to the Balochistan Police, constable Yasir Saeed, who was assigned to guard the protestors of the Haq Du Tehreek sit-in, was martyred.
Reacting to the death of the constable, Chief Minister Balochistan in a statement directed the law enforcement agencies to arrest the accused involved in the incident. A report of the incident has been called for and a special team has been ordered to be formed to arrest the accused.
“Such incidents are intolerable. The Home Minister said that an FIR should be registered against Chairman Haq Du Tehreek.
Our Forces peacefully dealt the entire process of #Hakdotehreek at Gwadar. But writ of the State challenged. Constable Yaser embraced #Shahadat with the wilful action of some miscreants present in the mob. Every democratic process will be supported but within the constitution. pic.twitter.com/LfrwzpnzUi

Meanwhile, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman has demanded the release of the missing leadership and workers of his movement. They also alleged that the police were responsible for the firing during their protest.
The two-month dharna was peaceful, all the major processions were peaceful. The government has bowed down to mafia pressure and resorted to violence,” he said.
On the other hand, the coastal highway blocked by the protestors has been opened for traffic after ending the sit-in.
Coastal highway was blocked.
The coastal highway was blocked in protest near Sarabandan area of Gwadar on Monday after seven supporters of the “Haqq Du Tehreek”, including their leader Hussain Wadala, were arrested by the police.
The protesters were demanding a reduction in the number of check posts, facilitation of cross-border trade and a complete end to deep-sea fish trawling in the sea near Gwadar.
The HDT had been protesting in Gwadar for about eight weeks under the leadership of Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman.
Balochistan government spokesperson Farah Azim had alleged that the protesters tried to block the Gwadar port after which the police arrested some of them while taking action.
He further said that the attitude of the movement is provocative.
