Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that if there is no rule of law, there is no democracy, prosperity and future in the country.
“Without the rule of law, we have no democracy (freedom) and no prosperity and no future,” the ousted prime minister issued another condemnation of the ongoing crackdown on his party following the May 9 violence. . PTI workers are protesting against his arrest.
He also pointed out that Pakistan’s position in the Rule of Law Index has dropped significantly since the sanctions began.

Earlier, in an interview, Khan also expressed regret over the crackdown on his party.
“The constitution and the law allow us to protest peacefully. The government listed 23,000 PTI workers and 10,000 were arrested,” Khan said in an interview with Azad Urdu.
Detainees are not being allowed to meet their lawyers, he said, adding that democracy is lost if civilians are tried in military courts.
“There is semi-martial law, they are planning to crush the PTI.”
He was also asked about the Supreme Court’s order to hold elections in Punjab on May 14.
Despite the order of the Supreme Court, the elections did not take place.
He said that the country is running on power is the correct formula, his first goal is to eliminate PTI and bring back Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo Nawaz Sharif.
‘PTI doesn’t need electables anymore’
Furthermore, expressing confidence in his party’s popularity among the masses, he said he no longer needed “electables”.
The former prime minister, who is currently facing several legal challenges after being removed from office, boasted that the PTI has the largest vote bank in the country.
“If you have so many votes, it doesn’t matter who is leaving the party and joining,” he said.
He was also asked to comment on the mass exodus of leaders from the party as several senior PTI leaders including Fawad Chaudhry, Shireen Mazari, Aamir Kayani, Maymood Maulvi, Saifullah Niazi, Ali Zaidi and Imran Ismail left the party. The PTI chief, however, claimed that the vote bank of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has collapsed and whenever the elections are held, the PTI will win.

Responding to a question on his new offer for talks, Khan said talks are on, but there has been no response from the other side.
“Those who want a solution, negotiate, the solution is an election and they don’t want it and are running away from it.”
Criticizing the government for the deteriorating economy, Khan said the country was headed for default and was witnessing the highest inflation in its history.
He said that everyone is afraid of PTI.
