On Thursday, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah claimed that constitutionally, Muslim League (Q) leader Pervez Elahi is no longer the Chief Minister of Punjab.
While talking to the media in Lahore, Sanaullah said that the Governor of Punjab had asked the Chief Minister to take a vote of confidence by tomorrow, but he did not take it, so according to the constitution, Pervez Elahi is no longer the Chief Minister. .
The interior minister said that Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman was exercising his powers under the constitution, adding that whenever orders [to remove Pervez Elahi from the post of chief minister] were issued by him, they would be implemented. will be done
On PTI’s protest outside Punjab Governor House, the Home Minister said that if the party has planned any hooliganism today, they will make arrangements for it. He further said that maintaining law and order is the responsibility of the provincial government.

On the PTI’s claim that the President will remove Balighur Rehman, the Home Minister said that the President has to follow the orders of the Prime Minister.
Sanaullah said that removing the governor is far-fetched, the president cannot even remove a bee sitting on his head without the advice of the prime minister. He added that if the PTI was serious about dissolving the assemblies, it could have got the signature on December 17 and implemented it.
On the notification of Elahi’s dismissal, Sanaullah said that in his opinion the Governor’s orders should be issued today. He further said that the governor has to release the schedule for the election of the new chief minister.
On the question regarding the new chief ministerial candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (N), the interior minister said that Hamza Shehbaz is the parliamentary leader of the party in the Punjab Assembly and he should be their candidate. However, he further said that PML-N has not considered anyone for the new chief minister.
