A Hindu extremist religious leader in India has now threatened to burn Shah Rukh Khan alive.
The controversy that started after the release of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s song Besharam Rang from their upcoming film Pathan refuses to die down and new complaints are being filed against the song every day.
The song seems to have sparked widespread outrage over Padukone’s choice of outfit as the actor wore a saffron colored bikini. This color has religious significance for Hindus.
First there were protests against the film and the actors in India, after which a boycott of the film was announced and now a Hindu pandit has threatened to burn Shah Rukh Khan alive and called him a jihadist.
A video of a man named Pandit Parmahans Acharya is going viral on Twitter in which he says, “Today we burnt their posters. The film Pathan has insulted the color saffron. If I find jihadi Shahrukh Khan anywhere, I will burn him alive.
He then also said that if anyone else dared to do the same, he would fight a legal case for them.
Pandit Acharya had threatened the theater owners not to release the film or else they would burn the theatres.
Along with this, Paramahans Acharya appealed to his followers to boycott such films.
