There is good news for the daily commuters of Karachi as People’s Bus Service will run from Gulshan Hadid to Tower.
Earlier the long route was bifurcated forcing Gulshan Hadid passengers to go to Malir Cantt first. From Millar Kent they had to board a new bus to the tower.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Wednesday. In the meeting, it was decided that the People’s Bus Service will run directly from Gulshan Hadid to Tower via Shahrah Faisal from Monday.
The minister said that the route has been changed on the demand of the residents of Gulshan Hadid.
Memon also said that the number of buses on the Khokhrapar Tower route will also be increased to 30 from September 29.
He said that the demand for bus service is increasing. He said that we have to improve the service further by discouraging overloading as many complaints are being received in this regard.
The Transport Minister directed the Sindh Mass Transit Authority to form a monitoring team. He said that the team will be mandated to report on various issues including timely departure of buses and overloading.
The meeting also reviewed the operations of the People’s Bus Service in Larkana. The Minister directed the MD Mass Transit Authority to liaise with the district administration of Larkana on a daily basis to resolve the issues facing the routes.
