PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan has officially approved the implementation of three new projects under the Peshawar Uplift Program Phase II and has directed the district administration to initiate strict crackdown on professional beggars across the province.

While presiding over the meeting held regarding Peshawar Uplift Program Phase II, the Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure the timely completion of Hayatabad Trail and other ongoing schemes under the scheme and directed them to make these initiatives valuable and effective. A proper maintenance and management plan should be made to make it sustainable. . The Chief Minister directed the district administration to take practical measures to discourage and root out professional beggars who have become a source of trouble not only for local people but also for people coming to the provincial capital from other districts and provinces. .

On this occasion, Provincial Finance and Health Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra, Provincial Local Government Minister Faisal Amin Gandapur, MPA Pir Fida, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Amjad Ali Khan, concerned administrative secretaries, Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Mehsud. , Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Division participated. Director General PDA Peshawar, Director Archeology and other concerned officials attended the meeting.

While briefing the Chief Minister about the progress on the ongoing projects under the Peshawar Uplift Program, it was informed that the designing and planning of 20 different schemes have been completed and approved while tenders for these schemes will also be issued soon.

According to the details, the 6 km long Hayatabad trail will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 803 million, which will have modern recreational facilities including jogging and cycle tracks, green belts, public toilets, tok shops, kid zones, sit-ins, open spaces. will Gym, Futsal, Amphitheater, Badminton and Basketball Courts, Library, Ladies Gym, Skating Area etc. It will be a one-of-a-kind trail with four entry points at different locations connecting all phases of Hayatabad.

Other projects under the program include Iqra Chowk (Island 1), Pak Avenue on University Road, Park Avenue from University Town to Tigah Chowk, Park Avenue (road from town entrance to Iranian Consulate), beautification of Pulosai Road intersection, Pulosai Beauty is included. Road from University Road to Peshawar Zoo, Elevation of University Road from KTH to University Model College and construction of park/playgrounds on Umar Gul Road.

Similarly, the preservation of Agriculture Training Institute Mahfooz Khana and Government Hasnain Shaheed School No. 1 will also be done by the Archeology Department. Apart from this, the new schemes to be launched in the second phase include rehabilitation and elevation of Kabuli Gate to Qisa Khwani Bazar, Qisa Khwani Bazar from Chowk Yadgar to Ghanta Ghar, Inner Shahr Bazar Road from University Model College to Karkhano Market and parking plaza in Khyber.
