PHC orders release of PTI’s Ali Muhammad Khan.

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday ordered the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan, who was arrested on May 9 under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance 1960. was arrested in the light of Violence

A two-member bench comprising Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Syed Mohammad Atiq Shah gave a reserved verdict on Khan’s bail plea.

During the hearing, Justice Anwar remarked that those who hold a press conference are released and those who do not are arrested again.

He questioned how such serious allegations can be cleared with just a press conference.

After that, the court gave a verdict and directed the authorities to release the former minister. He also directed Khan to submit bonds of Rs 100,000 as security against his bail.

Moreover, the court also accepted the pleas of some other persons arrested under Section 3 of the MPO.

The former minister of state was initially arrested in Islamabad on May 11 in a crackdown on PTI leaders in the wake of violent protests that erupted after the arrest of the party chairman. He was released and re-arrested several times before being taken into custody by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.

Khan obtained orders for his release from the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on May 30, however, the KP police re-arrested him from outside Adiala Jail under the same law.
