Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is all set to start its direct weekly passenger flights on the Beijing-Islamabad-Beijing route by the end of October following approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
At present, the national flag carrier is operating a weekly flight on the Islamabad-Xian-Beijing-Islamabad sector. The PIA flight departs from Islamabad on Saturday and will reach Xi’an on the same day. After disembarking all passengers, the plane lands in Beijing on Sunday and departs for Islamabad on Sunday evening.
However, considering Pakistan as China’s only all-weather strategic partner and seeing the mutual interest and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, CAAC has approved PIA to start direct weekly operations to and from Beijing. Official sources told JEE News here. Thursday.
The CAAC has also asked the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) to inform PIA to submit the scheduled filing for timely approval.
The Islamabad-Beijing-Islamabad direct passenger flight will facilitate passengers, especially officials, businessmen and students residing in the Chinese capital. The flight will also facilitate Chinese officials working on various projects being completed in Pakistan under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

It should be noted that PIA is also operating weekly direct passenger flights between Islamabad and Chengdu, the capital of China’s Sichuan province, every Wednesday since March this year.
Earlier, the national flag carrier had increased the discount for students from 10 percent to 15 percent and an additional 7 percent on surcharge, which amounts to around 22 percent on flights between Pakistan and China.
Students who are returning to China or planning to return home after completing their studies can take advantage of this discount.
